Introducing myself
"Hi, my name is Max Hinne and I studied Information Science!"
"Hi Max", the indifferent crowd replied.
After finishing my Master thesis for Information Science (see the paper on Web graph communities below) I decided to do a Master's in Computer Science as well. In the meanwhile I'm keeping my eyes open for an interesting PhD position. My professional interests include: Information Retrieval and, more general, Web Science. I am particularly interested in the Web graph or similar networks.
Also, I am a member of the Information Foraging Lab at our Digital Security institute.
I can be reached at mhinne[at]sci.ru.nl.

- LibraryThing. A list of books I've read, mostly in recent years.
A personal note
Besides my professional interests I like to read historic novels (e.g. "In a Dark Wood Wandering", by Hella S. Haasse, or "Mists of Avalon", by Marion Bradley), epic fantasy (e.g. "The Malazan Book of the Fallen", by Steven Erikson, or "The Prince of Nothing", by Scott R. Bakker) or about general philosophical or scientific topics (e.g. "The God Delusion", by Richard Dawkins). I also tend to play online shooters too much :-)
